Annual Accounts
Accurate. Insightful. On Point.
Annual accounts shouldn’t just be something you file to keep HMRC happy. Done right, they tell the story of your business - where you’ve been, what’s working, and where you could go next.

At Collective Concepts Accounting, we treat your year-end accounts as more than a compliance exercise. We produce clear, accurate financial statements that meet all statutory requirements but also help you understand the numbers that matter. Because behind every balance sheet lies an opportunity.
Our aim is to draft accounts within four months of your year end to minimise deadline stresses. We work to maximise your tax efficiency and claim all possible breaks on your behalf.
Whether you’re a small limited company, a growing group or a high-turnover SME, our accountancy team will prepare and submit your annual accounts with total precision and zero stress.

FAQs
1. What are annual accounts, and does my company need them?
Every limited company has to prepare statutory annual accounts at the end of its financial year, even if it hasn't traded or made a profit. They're filed with Companies House and sent to HMRC with your Corporation Tax return. We prepare them in the right format for your company's size and make sure everything you're required to include is there.
2. When are my annual accounts due?
For most private limited companies, accounts must be filed with Companies House within nine months of the year end. Your Corporation Tax is usually due nine months and one day after the year end, and the tax return itself within twelve months. Your first accounts after incorporation have different deadlines. We aim to draft your accounts within four months of your year end, so there's plenty of time before any deadline.
3. What happens if my accounts are filed late?
Companies House issues an automatic penalty for late filing, and it goes up the later the accounts are. It doubles if you're late two years in a row. HMRC can charge separate penalties and interest for late tax returns and payments. We track every deadline and remind you in good time, so late filing shouldn't happen.
4. What do you need from me to prepare my accounts?
Usually your bookkeeping records, bank statements, and details of anything unusual during the year, like loans, large purchases or money you've taken out of the business. If you use cloud accounting software, we can often work straight from it. We'll send you a clear checklist so you know exactly what to gather.
5. Can my annual accounts help me pay less tax?
Yes. Preparing your accounts properly means claiming every allowable expense and relief, and reviewing things like capital allowances and how you pay yourself. Because we look at your figures early, there's time to plan before the tax is due instead of just reporting what's already happened.
