Strategic Tax Planning and Structuring

Build Wealth, Reduce Waste, Stay One Step Ahead

Smart tax planning isn’t about loopholes or last-minute hacks. It’s about taking a big-picture view of your finances, structuring your income and assets in the smartest way possible, and making long-term moves that pay off.

At Collective Concepts Accounting, we help high-net-worth individuals, business owners, and family offices build tax strategies that align with their goals - whether that’s wealth preservation, growth, or future-proofing for the next generation.

We look at where you are now, where you want to go, and how to get there tax-efficiently - legally, strategically, and with absolute clarity.

What We Cover:

  • Personal and business tax optimisation
  • Income structuring and dividend strategies
  • Use of allowances, exemptions and timing of income

Group and Asset Structuring

Whether you're growing a company group, holding investments in property or shares, or planning a family office, we’ll help you structure ownership in the most tax-efficient way.

That could include:

  • Setting up holding companies
  • Using group loss reliefs
  • Managing intercompany transactions
  • Planning for exit or sale

Our goal is not just to reduce tax, but to add long-term value.

How we can help…

We don’t just focus on the here and now. We help you plan for what's coming whether it is new regulation, market changes, or shifts in your personal circumstances. That means fewer surprises, more control, and better financial outcomes.

FAQs

  • 1. When is the best time to start tax planning?

As early as possible. The most effective planning happens before a big event, such as selling a business, buying property, restructuring or passing on wealth, not after it. We also recommend reviewing your position before each tax year ends, so you can make full use of allowances before they're lost.

  • 2. What is a holding company, and would I benefit from one?

A holding company owns shares in one or more trading companies. It can help protect assets, move profits between companies tax-efficiently and make it easier to sell part of a business later on. It isn't right for every business, so we'll look at your plans and tell you whether it's worth the extra admin.

  • 3. What is a Family Investment Company?

A Family Investment Company is a private company used to hold and grow family wealth. It lets parents keep control while gradually passing value to the next generation. It can be a flexible alternative to a trust, but it needs careful setup and ongoing management. We'll help you decide if it's the right fit and work with your solicitor to set it up.

  • 4. How have the recent Inheritance Tax changes affected business owners?

From April 2026, Business Property Relief and Agricultural Property Relief were limited, so some business owners and farmers now face Inheritance Tax where previously they would not have. Unused pensions are also due to fall within Inheritance Tax from April 2027. If you haven't reviewed your plans since these changes, now is the time to do it.

  • 5. Is tax planning the same as tax avoidance?

No. Good tax planning means using the allowances, reliefs and structures that the law intends you to use, in a way that fits your real goals. We don't recommend aggressive schemes or loopholes. Everything we suggest is legal and transparent, and designed to stand up to HMRC scrutiny.
